We are currently expanding our metal fabrication division and have recently set up our new facility in Mount Uniacke, NS. Our new 10,000 SQFT air-conditioned facility is fully stocked with our commonly used Kawneer & OBE materials, various types of hardware, brand new tools and fabrication equipment, and plenty of organized storage and racking systems. We are now seeking a talented and experienced Fabricator with leadership experience to oversee day-to-day shop operations. The ideal candidate has hands-on fabrication expertise, deep knowledge of aluminum storefront, curtainwall, and glazing systems, and proven leadership skills to manage a team of fabricators. Roles and Responsibilities:
Oversee all fabrication activities in the shop, ensuring quality, efficiency, and safety
Read and interpret shop drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications
Fabricate aluminum frames, doors, storefronts, curtainwalls, and related system according to Division VIII standards
Manage and schedule shop employees to meet project deadlines
Maintain shop inventory, order materials, and coordinate deliveries with our Lead Estimator
Implement and enforce shop safety protocols and quality control procedures
Collaborate with our Estimators and Project Managers to ensure smooth workflow
Train and mentor shop personnel on fabrication techniques and equipment use
Troubleshoot fabrication issue and provide practical solutions
Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in Division VIII fabrication (storefront, curtainwall, entrances, and glazing)
2+ years in a supervisory or foreman role preferred
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
Proficiency with fabrication tools, equipment, and related machinery
Experience with a CNC considered an asset
Strong understanding of fabrication best practices and shop safety regulations
Excellent organizational and communication skills
Ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team
Benefits: Wage rate of $35/hr to $45/hr (overtime starts at 44 hrs/week), 3 weeks/year vacation (6% accrual), 8 paid statutory holidays, Group Benefits (Life Insurance, AD&D, 80% Health & Dental, Paramedical Allowances, Vision Allowances), 2% DPSP plan, Company Cellphone, Mileage Reimbursement.
