The Maintenance Director ensures the efficient and safe operation of all machinery, systems, and facility infrastructure within the manufacturing operation. This role oversees the installation, repair, and preventative maintenance of equipment to maximize reliability, minimize downtime, and support a safe, efficient and highly productive manufacturing environment.
The Maintenance Director will lead and develop the maintenance team by providing clear direction, hands-on support, training and ongoing performance feedback. Success in this role requires the ability to combine strategic planning with hands-on execution in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
Qualifications & Skills
Proven experience in maintenance leadership within a manufacturing environment (glass manufacturing preferred)
Strong technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and automation systems
Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills
Ability to combine strategic thinking with hands-on execution
Dependable leader with strong organizational and decision-making abilities
Experience managing maintenance teams, budgets and preventive maintenance programs
Strong commitment to workplace safety and continuous improvement
Essential Functions
Regularly review best practices within the department and make recommendations for improvement
Maintain scheduling of maintenance assignments and ensure preventative and unscheduled maintenance is completed correctly, in order of priority, and in a timely manner
Coordinate with the department Leads and Managers within McGrory and vendor/contractors outside the company to complete work as needed
Direct and assist maintenance team with all work
Maintain inventory of supplies and coordinate with Purchasing for ordering
Additional duties as needed to support McGrory Glass’s vision, mission and goals
