National Building Envelope Consulting Firm seeks highly motivated, capable Senior Curtain Wall Consultants for Nashville, TN and Birmingham, AL offices. This position will involve a variety of general functions. Successful candidates must possess the following qualifications:
Extensive knowledge of aluminum-and-glass curtain wall systems, window systems, storefront systems, composite metal, masonry, stone, precast concrete, and unitized/panelized façade systems featuring rain screen, barrier wall, or pressure equalized performance capabilities.
Extensive knowledge in the use and installations of sealants, flashings, thermal insulation, and air/water/vapor retarder materials within and associated with the envelope systems listed above.
Competent in reading and understanding Architectural and structural plans, wind tunnel test reports, and technical specifications.
Able to work with Clients and other team members to develop new details, remedial details, and specifications for exterior building envelope systems.
Be able to effectively communicate, work independently and productively within a Team environment, work at heights in the field, observe installations on new construction sites, perform existing wall condition site visit observations, and execute/oversee envelope performance testing per industry standards.
Must have excellent grammar skills, strong technical writing skills, and editing, interpersonal, communication, and time management skills.
Take independent initiative and work proactively in solving problems and keeping deliverables on schedule.
Participate in local market development and cultivate new and existing Clients within the United States.
Be proficient in Microsoft Word, MS Excel, Bluebeam Revu, and Adobe Acrobat Pro.
Travel required.
Collaborate with project team members on building enclosure performance, constructability, and interfaces with similar and dissimilar materials, systems, and trades.
Need to know applicable building codes in respective project markets.
Assist in managing project budgetary requirements related to service deliverables.
Communicate efficiently and effectively and establish relationships with Clients, potential Clients, project design, construction and management teams, and fellow team members.
Perform fieldwork to include evaluating existing structures, mock-up testing, various building envelope system testing, water pressure testing, Q.A. observations, leak investigations and observations. Timely accurate, concise reporting is required.
The following qualifications are considered a plus but are not required:
Licensed Architect or Engineer.
Experience with AutoCAD.
Participation in National Standards Committees.
