About The Role
We are currently seeking a new member to join our Horizon-family to occupy the role of Contract Project Manager. The Project Manager will organize, manage, and plan projects, as assigned, to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to specifications. Horizon Glass Project Managers may be responsible for multiple projects at any given time and serve as the main point of contact for clients, architects, engineers and consultants. will maintain and endeavor to improve as-sold project margins by implementing effective strategies and proactive planning. The Project Manager will execute contract scopes of work in accordance with Horizon Glass’ standard operating procedures in support of the overall organization goals, values and mission.
Responsibilities Include:
- Organize, pre-plan, and prioritize all PM-related tasks to be performed with respect to each Project that has been awarded or assigned, with the explicit ‘dual objective’ of meeting/beating the estimated (sales-generated) budget for each project, and achieving consistent customer end-satisfaction across the company’s General Contractor client base
- Actively participate in the company’s established Project Turnover protocols
- Reviews all Construction and Contract-related documents, and orchestrates/accomplishes the necessary Submittal and Approval tasks as a precursor to material procurement
- Performs all applicable material ‘take-offs’, confirms and/or obtain ‘best pricing’ where applicable from all vendors & suppliers, and commences material procurement via the company’s established Purchase Order procedures
- Actively participates in the Company’s weekly Production & Sales meeting
- On monthly basis prepares Schedule of Values to establish the amounts ‘to be billed’ for each project – to relay this information to the accounting department for invoice and Pay App generation
- Provides accurate ‘re-estimates’ to Accounting with respect to the actual/anticipated costs-to-complete for each project, and Price & Monitor the status of all Change Orders for each active project
- Monitors all active projects closely and visits each job site periodically (or as may also be required by the General Contractor)
- Assembles & submits all applicable Project Close-out documentation
- Promotes long term relationships with both existing and new accounts
- Supports and helps promote the Company’s long-standing commitments to a ‘Zero Accident’ Safety Program in the Workplace, and a ‘Zero Punchlist’ approach to Installation & Workmanship Quality
- Remains abreast of company capabilities and ongoing manpower commitments to help the company avoid any potential to ‘over-promise and under-deliver’
Requirements
- Able to manage Horizon Glass projects ranging from a thousand dollars up to $5 million in total project revenues with goals of bringing in each project under budget.
- 5+ years of related experience
- Able to effectively delegate tasks as needed
- Proficient in general pdf software use, Bluebeam highly valued
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel, & Outlook
- Able to read construction documents (drawings and specifications)
- Able to handle multiple tasks, projects, & meet deadlines
- Timeliness and accuracy in all aspects of work
- Able to work independently and as a team
- Strong organization skills for project file management
- Possesses a thorough understanding of or the ability to quickly learn about the processes and procedures related to the project’s lifecycle
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Consistently work & lead by example
