We opened our first window profile extrusion operation in 1975 in a small warehouse east of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Back then we were a little-known operation called the Poly-Tex Company but we quickly drew attention when we introduced profiles for the first all-vinyl, tilt double-hung replacement window system into the U.S. market. Chelsea Building Products ushered in a new and exciting era of design, engineering, and manufacturing for extruded polymer-based profiles used in windows, doors, siding, shutters, mouldings, and more. Today, our production and distribution facility located in Oakmont, PA, operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, producing millions of feet of lineal extrusions per year. In addition to Oakmont, Chelsea’s Greenville Texas location provides manufacturing and distribution services to the southern and western United States. Chelsea’s parent company aluplast gives Chelsea Building Products a global footprint, strong financial backing, and additional technical resources for continued growth and expansion. As a family-owned second generation business, aluplast also provides additional products for distribution that give Chelsea an international reach for their products.
